Personal days: As a parent myself, there may be days that I may require off as I will attend a class fieldtrip on occasion, where I may not be able to bring the dayhome charges. These are days that are planned WELL in advance and you will get maximum amount notice possible. Also, I do on occasion have appointments to attend that I can't bring kids with me. If it my kids have dental appointments, I can usually make a fieldtrip out of it, the offices are great about giving tours for the preschoolers, however if I require a dental appointment, I can't bring kids with me as I can't watch them. I try to book things so that the least amount of people are affected by appointments and days off, however, it is not always possible. I do not deduct these days until they exceed more than 4 days(or 8 half days) in a calendar year.

Rates and fees

About our fees-

With the cost of living increasing dramatically the last couple years, childcare costs can't be expected to stay as they were. Parents need to understand that dayhomes aren't "capitalizing" on the increase as rates have risen, but that they are experiencing the same cost increases as everyone else, and this includes running the dayhome. Approximately 30% of their income, if not more, goes into running a dayhome. On average a child consumes $6/day for meals at a dayhome, when a child is there a full day having breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks. A part-time child will have a food cost of approx $60/mo, and a full-time child will average $120 /mo.

Add various supplies that are required for the dayhome to function, these vary by dayhome, but generally, there are cleaning supplies, sheets, blankets, cots, napkins, towels(each child has their own), pillows, craft supplies such as, crayons, markers, paint, stickers, playdoh, glue, glitter, papers, etc. special supplies for gifts, special gifts. Bakign supplies for baking days, where kids get to bring home the cookies or muffins, etc they make. Toys are always being replaced as they wear out, new toys are added, music cd's, books, printer inks, etc. Upgrading carseats, playpens and highchairs is a constant as well. There are many things that are required in the dayhome, that unless you have run one, you wouldn't notice.

So as the costs for supplying these increases, our rates have to reflect this. There's a lot of planning and effort that goes into running a dayhome. We all appreciate your understanding.

Payment

-All fee's are due on the last working day of each month for the following month.

-Late fee's will apply with late payments AND late pick up.

- You will receive one receipt for tax purposes at the end of the year.

- when a deposit is made and the contract signed, it is an agreement between us that you are accepting our fees and policies, and that we've agreed upon the hours of care you require. If you later need to change the hours of care, this is subject to availability.

- When and If you take any holidays, time off , etc. You are still required to pay your monthly fee's to keep your child's spot. The only time fee's are deducted is when I take my summer holidays. Or if I require to take any time off for illness, appointments, etc.

- If you change the amount of care needed to LESS days, you will still be required to pay original starting fee. ( this applies to parents requiring less care over summer also )

- Holding fees will apply if you want a spot to be held for your child for more than ONE month. This applies to when there is a CURRENT space open but you don't want to have your child start until a later date more than a few weeks away.. A holding fee is NOT refundable or credited to your first month.

If an opening will be occuring in a few weeks that you wish to secure, only a deposit and signed contract is required. A deposit is credited to your first month, but if you no longer require the space, it is not refunded.

Holding fee's and deposits are as followed :

Holding fee - 375.00 per month

Deposit - $200 per space

THIS GUARANTEE'S A SPOT FOR YOUR CHILD.

-if your required amount of child care changes to less days then what was mentioned you will still be required to pay original starting rate to keep your child's spot.

- additional fee's may apply depending on your individual needs.

- Noella's Family Dayhome requires that on the first day of care, you have your payment in full plus a 50% prepayment. This will be credited to you for the last two weeks of care when the dayhome is no longer required, if you fail to give an minimum 1 month notice that care is no longer required, this payment is not returned to you but serves as your 1 month notice whether the child is in care or not.

- you will be charged for any NSF cheques, and be asked to pay in cash for ALL future fee's.

*** ALWAYS have back-up childcare available.*** I do give as much notice as possible when I need to take half day or full days off, but as you know unpredicable things to occur, family emergencies, illness, cancellations and rescheduling of appointments, so it important you know some one who can be your back up care in these instances, which thankfully have been very few in my dayhome.
